PRP Therapy
Platelet-rich plasma, known as PRP, is a preparation that is part of your own blood. The plasma from the blood contains a high concentration of proteins and growth factors. These growth factors released from PRP rejuvenate the hair follicles, resulting in natural hair regrowth in most areas. PRP therapy is the most commonly done non-surgical treatment for hair loss or hair thinning.

3.Who is a good candidate for PRP therapy?
Since PRP is derived from your own blood, it works well for most patients. This treatment is equally suitable for men as well as women. Patients with hair fall (pattern baldness- male and female, receding hairline, nutritional hair fall, post pregnancy hair loss) are the primary candidates but anyone looking to maintain healthy hair can get it done periodically.
However,PRP is not a first line treatment option but an add on to Dr Manoj Agarwala’s prescription for your hair loss. The cumulative result of oral, topical and PRP therapy is much greater than any of these modalities used alone.
4.What is the procedure for PRP therapy?
A small amount of blood is drawn from your vein and processed to separate the PRP from other blood components. The process concentrates the platelets found in the blood sample. These concentrated platelets contain huge reservoirs of growth factors. Growth factors are natural components of your body. The PRP prepared after centrifugation is loaded into a small syringe and injected into the scalp. We use Nano technology to minimize pain and discomfort during the procedure. A numbing cream prior to the procedure may also be used on request of the patient.
Treatment typically includes injections into the scalp every 4 to 6 weeks, followed by maintenance treatments every 4 to 6 months afterward.
We also have the option of using one of the best PRP system i.e.– Harvest system for selected patients.
5.How much does PRP therapy cost?
The price of a PRP treatment varies depending on the PRP kit used. At the time of your consultation, we discuss the cost of your PRP treatments. There are periodic offers and discounts too.
